Hikes

To hike in the nature is a good way to enjoy it. The Swedish "Allemansrätten" (the right of public access) gives you the freedom to roam the Swedish countryside as long as you don't intrude on the grounds of a house or cross cultivated ground. Go out and enjoy the quietness, far away from people, roads and cars.

These are hikes that we can recommend:

For example:

1. "Walking brings peace to a pilgrim soul" - www.stolavsleden.com.
   Hike a section of the 564 kilometers long trail in the footprints of the pilgrims. ”St. Olavsleden” (the St. Olavs trail) passes right through Stöde and next to our cottage. You'll choose were to start and stop and we'll bring you there and pick you up.
2. Hike to the Vättan cabin. You can see this cabin on the top of the mountain on the opposite side of the Stöde lake. It’s only a 2 km hike. It’s also possible to spend the night there (for an extra fee), but you have to make a reservation in advance. 
   Live the life people lived in passed days; without streaming water and a wc (an outhouse is available) and without electricity. Bring your own water and toiletpaper!    

You will bring:

• a pair of good hiking shoes
• clothes suite to the weather

We will fix:

• a backpack, filled with practical accessories (fire wood, thermoses, mugs, matches etc.) In case you want to spend the night in the cottage, we'll also complete the backpack with sleepingbags, groundsheets
• maps, road description

 You can add:

• ’fika’ (in the backpack) SEK 60 / person
